What “Comment removed upon the user being banned” means
When moderators ban someone on patriots.win or scored.co, they can also nuke the account: remove that user's comments in one sweep. Each removed comment then shows Comment removed upon the user being banned.
Who sees what
Everyone else sees the ban message where the comments were. Logged in, the author can still see their comments normally, so a nuke can go unnoticed. Removed posts show Post removed upon the user being banned.
What a nuke does, and doesn't do
- It removes a batch of comments at once. A nuke can blank out many of your comments at the same moment, and nothing lists which ones.
- It's per community. A ban and nuke in one community doesn't stop you posting in others on the same site.
- An unban doesn't necessarily bring the comments back. People who were banned and quickly unbanned have found their removed comments still blank afterward.
The public ban log
TheDonald publishes its bans and unbans at
scored.co/c/thedonald/ban-logs.
Each entry names the account and gives the ban length, whether it was a nuke, and the stated
reason. Entries read like 0 day nuke with reason: Rule 1; other reasons include
“Troll” and “Ban evasion.” The log doesn't say which moderator issued the ban.
Why some bans vanish within hours: not every moderator can issue a permanent ban. TheDonald's moderators have said a ban issued without that permission is reversed automatically. That's why the log sometimes shows a ban followed shortly by an unban.
If it happened to you
- Confirm it. Open a few of your recent comments in a private or incognito window, and look for your name in the ban log.
- Appeal privately. TheDonald's moderators take appeals by private message, not in public threads.
- Don't delete your account or comment history. The moderators have said they review appeals only when the history is still there.
- Don't make a new account to get around it. “Ban evasion” is a stated reason for nukes in the log, and new accounts are watched closely anyway.
